Apothecary has been awarded the national e-commerce trust mark “e-Trustmark” for the fourth consecutive year. This certification confirms that Apothecary conducts its online operations in full compliance with the laws of the Republic of Serbia, as well as with the highest standards of e-commerce best practices and consumer protection. The continued display of the e-Trustmark seal on the Apothecary website underscores our ongoing commitment to transparency, reliability, and secure online business practices.

To further strengthen a trusted and seamless e-commerce environment, Apothecary offers customers multiple secure payment options. Foster + Svensson acquired original artwork created by Academician Ljubica Cuca Sokić

Ljubica Cuca Sokić, a prominent Serbian and Yugoslav painter of the 20th century, was born in Bitola, North Macedonia. She received her secondary education in Belgrade, Serbia, where she began her art education under the mentorship of drawing professor Zora Petrović, one of the most significant representatives of expressionism in Serbian painting. Sokić continued to pursue her art education at the Royal School of Arts in Belgrade, under the guidance of professors Beta Vukanović, Ivan Radović, Jovan Bijelić, and Ljuba Ivanović.

Sokić’s artistic journey took her to Paris, France, where she exhibited her works. In 1939, she made her first independent exhibition at the Cvijeta Zuzorić pavilion in Belgrade. From 1948 to 1972, she dedicated her life to teaching as a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade. During her tenure, she became a corresponding member of SANU in 1968, and later a regular member in 1978, earning an Academician title.

Her painting style is characterized by its intimate nature. Initially, her artworks drew inspiration from still lifes, landscapes, figures, and portraits. Over time, her style evolved towards simplification of forms, geometrization, and moderate abstraction.

Throughout her artistic career, she received numerous accolades and awards. These include the award of the first October Salon, the “Golden Pen of Belgrade” Plaque for illustration, the Golden Plaque of ULUS, the Grand Prix of the First Biennial of Yugoslav Miniature Art, and also the Medal of Order for the People with Silver Rays of Merit.

Her artistic legacy is preserved in museums across Serbia. Ljubica Cuca Sokić passed away in Belgrade in 2009. She remains an esteemed figure in Serbian art history, recognized as an academician of SANU and a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade.

The Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia has issued a conclusion on the “Apothecary LAB” trademark

The Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia has approved the trademark “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful,” which was submitted last year by Apothecary. The trademark was developed in collaboration with the marketing agency Foster + Svensson and its specialized unit Foster + Svensson MED.

The trademark’s recognition and registration grant Apothecary exclusive rights to the trademark and provide 10 years of intellectual property protection. After completing the necessary formal and administrative procedures, the Institute will issue a trademark certificate to Apothecary and publish the trademark in the “Intellectual Property Gazette.”

After six years of research and development, Apothecary LAB will launch an innovative brand featuring dermocosmetic products derived from natural ingredients. These products are designed to promote the regeneration of healthy skin cells. The special scientific line of high-quality premium cosmetic products for skincare, created by pharmacists, showcases a unique private recipe of products incorporating natural ingredients.

– The construction of Apothecary LAB products commenced in 2020. Over the course of six years, extensive research and development were undertaken to establish the brand, develop its name, and create its line of skincare products. Foster + Svensson marketing agency played a pivotal role in crafting a creative solution for this endeavor. Notably, Apothecary LAB was launched simultaneously with the establishment of Apothecary luxury drugstore. However, product and brand development were executed concurrently and over an extended period, reflecting Apothecary’s commitment to maintaining exceptionally high standards in its work. The construction of Apothecary LAB products has been underway since 2020, where over 6 years were spent researching and building the brand itself, the name and the line of skincare products, with the support of the Foster + Svensson marketing agency, and its specialized healthcare unit Foster + Svensson MED which worked together on a creative solution. Apothecary LAB was created at the same time when Apothecary luxury drugstore was created, but product and brand development was done in parallel and over a long period of time, because Apothecary sets extremely high standards in its work, says Mag. In March 2025, Apothecary submitted an application to the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia to protect its trademark. The application sought legal protection for its name, graphic sign (logo), and the name “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful.” This protection ensures that only products marked with the trademark and name “Apothecary LAB” are legally available on the market. Apothecary’s application was based on the Law on Trademarks of the Republic of Serbia (“Official Gazette of the RS”, no. 104/2009 and 10/2013) and the Decree on the contents of the register of applications and the register of trademarks, as well as data published in the official gazette of the competent body (“Official Gazette of the RS”, no. 43/2010 of 25 June 2010).

After the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia conducted an Examination and requested the Apothecary to provide a Statement regarding the Examination, the Apothecary luxury drugstore submitted an expert Statement report in July 2025. This expert Statement report justified the use of the name “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful.” Foster + Svensson and Foster + Svensson MED are proud to have contributed its professional expertise to the acceptance of the trademark registration application, which was publicly published in the “Intellectual Property Gazette” at the end of August 2025. The expert explanation provided in the Statement report helped the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia accept the “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful” trademark and publish it in the official Gazette.

Apothecary LAB products are inspired by regenerative medicine based on bio-science

Apothecary holds the right of ownership over the trademark “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful,” registered under number “Ž 2025/0516.” The trademark is classified in the Vienna classification “27.5.1; 27.5.10; 27.5.17; 29.1.6” and falls under Nice classes 3 and 5. The trademark’s color is gray, with RGB values of 153, 153, and 153. The application was submitted to the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia on March 26, 2025, and was published in the “Intellectual Property Gazette of the Republic of Serbia” on August 29, 2025, under number 8/2025 (ISSN 2217 – 9143).

The brand’s development is an ongoing process that encompasses the creation of its name, trademark, color, and slogan, as well as the product packaging and product names, which are crucial steps in further intellectual property registration and protection.

The expert Statement report, prepared for the Protection of Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia, presents a detailed examination of the conditions for trademark recognition, encompassing both legal and professional elements. The report draws expertise from the fields applied arts, design, and marketing.

Today, the Suvodol monastery is recognized as a cultural monument of great importance under the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Serbia.

Apothecary customers can expect enhanced security for transactions and purchases. Online payments with Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, and DinaCard remain available, while American Express credit cards are no longer accepted. Additionally, the digital transformation initiative introduces the option to pay using Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Apothecary will gradually transition its operations to Raiffeisen Bank in Serbia. The previous e-commerce solution and the current account at Banca Intesa will progressively be phased out until the final termination, which is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026 at the latest. This change will also eliminate the option of online payments using American Express credit cards.

In 2013, Vladimir founded Foster + Svensson marketing and branding agency. He began serving clients such as Telekom Serbia, MTS, MTEL, Raiffeisen Bank, Avon, BMW, Select Milk, Ringier Axel Springer, and Samsung in the digital marketing, data analytics, creative, and design sectors. In 2014, he created a PR campaign for Marina Abramović and the MAI Institute, which gained worldwide visibility and made him one of the founders of the MAI Institute.

Shortly after, in 2015, he supported the founding of Samsung’s in-house marketing agency, Cheil, as the Business Director for eight markets in the Adriatic region. Legacy and its heirs

Suvodolac is one of the oldest and rarest families in Serbia, dated back in 11th century between 1004-1008 during Byzantine Empire, when Suvodol monastery was built and later rebuilt by Prince Lazar of Serbia as Nemanjić dynasty foundation in 14th century. Complete reconstruction was done during 1866 by Mihailo Obrenović, Prince of Serbia. Suvodol monastery is marked as a cultural monument of great importance under Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Serbia.

Dragiša Suvodolac, one of the few scholarship holders of His Majesty King Petar II Karađorđević of Yugoslavia, was personally recognized by the king for his talent and potential. King Petar II Karađorđević had long been searching for artists to work at the court in the fields of architecture, sculpture, painting, and art in general. With the patronage and scholarship of His Majesty and the Court, Dragiša secured further education and work. After completing his studies, he collaborated with sculptor and artist Ivan Meštrović on monumental works in Serbia, including “The Victor” monument on Kalemegdan in Belgrade (1928) and the “Monument to the Unknown Hero” atop Mount Avala (1938). Despite being colorblind, Dragiša Suvodolac created numerous other works of art, such as sculptures, busts, architectural drawings, and paintings, which are now owned by the Suvodolac and von Bergdorff families. Additionally, he contributed to the facade elements in the French neo-baroque and neo-renaissance styles on the House of Jevrem Grujić in Belgrade (1896), originally designed by the Italian master of decorative painting Domenico D’Andrea using the rare sgrafitto technique. This facade is considered an almost unique example of architecture in Belgrade.

For his exceptional work and contributions to the court, at the suggestion of the Marshal of the Court, His Majesty King Peter II Karađorđević of Yugoslavia honored Dragiša Suvodolac with the rank of Corporal of the Avala Detachment and the Silver Medal with Crown Rare on August 16, 1938, in Belgrade. This recognition is documented in the Military Geographical Institute Belgrade, as evidenced by the number № 821. The Silver Medal, featuring the image of HM King of Yugoslavia Aleksandar Karađorđević, was crafted in Vienna by “Mayer’s Söhne k.u.k.Hof u. Kammer-Juweliere Ordenfabrikanten Wien”, a renowned jewelry shop.

Vincenz Mayer’s Söhne, established in 1810, was a renowned jewelry company in Vienna. Initially, it served as a purveyor to the Imperial and Royal Court. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, it emerged as one of the most significant jewelers of religious orders in Vienna. The company’s address was Stock-im-Eisen-Platz 7 in the 1st district, Innere Stadt (Inner City). After Vincenz Mayer’s passing in 1865, his three sons—Joseph, Vincenz, and Franz Mayer—successfully inherited and continued the business. Their efforts led them to become one of the first and most esteemed jewelers in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Beyond jewelry and silverware, they also crafted orders and decorations, including the Order of the Iron Crown for the state. Their exceptional skills in precious metal craftsmanship were widely recognized.

Vincenz Mayer’s Söhne stood out as one of the few Austrian companies operating in this sector, alongside C. F. Rothe & Neffe. The company’s commitment to quality and exceptional service earned them the prestigious titles of Imperial and Royal Court Jewelers and later, Chamber Jewelers to the Emperor and Empress. Around 1900, Vincenz Mayer’s Söhne, a company of appraisers of precious objects for the Imperial Court Marshal’s Office and suppliers to the Chancellery of the Imperial Austrian Order of Franz Joseph, manufactured all classes of this order, primarily in gold. Their customers included foreign sovereigns and the most distinguished Viennese social circles. The company also supplied the courts of Serbia, Montenegro, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, the Vatican, Persia, the Ottoman Empire, and many others. The shop on Stock-im-Eisen-Platz featured a permanent exhibition of art objects and household goods. However, the outbreak of the First World War and the collapse of the monarchy brought difficult times for the company. Due to the economic crisis in the postwar years, the company had to close in 1922.

In the Austro-Hungarian Dual Monarchy, an Imperial and Royal Court Supplier (k.u.k. Hoflieferant) was a merchant or service provider (from 1911, also a company) granted imperial privilege to supply goods and services to the court in Vienna. These companies could be either state-owned (owned by the court) or privately owned. Before the Austro-Hungarian Compromise of 1867, which established the Dual Monarchy, companies were known as k.k. Hoflieferant (Imperial and Royal Purveyor to the Court) or simply Imperial Purveyor to the Court. This title was awarded only to companies that were leaders in quality within their sector. Therefore, the title k.u.k. Hoflieferant signified the highest class, the pinnacle of business achievement at the time. During Austria-Hungary’s golden age, over 500 purveyors to the court operated in Vienna alone, with others in Bad Ischl, Budapest, Karlovy Vary, Prague, and beyond. The total number of all companies is estimated at 2,500. Even today, several companies and businesses proudly retain this title and openly use it. In Vienna, Austria, there are still about two dozen. Purveyors to the Imperial and Royal Court continue to enjoy a stellar reputation and an aura of exclusivity and superior quality, reflecting the products that once graced the Imperial Court. These products remain among the most expensive and exclusive in the country, highly valued by customers and enthusiasts alike. To be awarded and decorated by His Majesty with a medal made in jewelry shops like these indicates excellence in work that stands out even above their own.

The Von Bergdorff family line stands out due to its unique intermarriage with various royal orders spanning across the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes), Austria, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland. Consequently, it represents a distinctive family lineage with a relatively rare number of descendants.

URSAPHARM new office interior design and branding

URSAPHARM, a company dedicated to providing modern and high-quality eyecare pharmaceutical products, also prioritizes the well-being of its employees. In Serbia, URSAPHARM relocated to a spacious new office in New Belgrade, within the “Atrium” business complex.

Every business deserves a fresh start, and the new space embodies URSAPHARM’s positive, accommodating, and cordial nature. It fosters better connectivity, offering open spaces for collaboration, socializing, and business activities. Employees also have offices and meeting rooms directly connected to their headquarters in Germany and other subsidiaries worldwide.

When designing the interior for URSAPHARM, we prioritized natural light, reflecting the company’s commitment to eye health. The space is clean, uncluttered, and free from excessive details, featuring sharp and clear lines and predominantly white, gray, blue, orange, and yellow colors. Glass doors and walls allow natural light to flood the space, complemented by artificial lighting to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

To align with the URSAPHARM brand, we branded the glass surfaces with a blue-ray valer, a raster of white and gray tones. We intentionally left a significant portion of the surface uncovered, allowing employees and visitors to see the entire space clearly.

This design choice mirrors URSAPHARM’s mission: to provide crystal-clear vision and vision.

The Republic of Serbia Intellectual Property Office published the registration of the “Apothecary LAB” trademark in the IP Gazette

After five years of research and work on products inspired by regenerative medicine based on bio-science and bio-technologies, Apothecary LAB will present an innovative brand characterized by dermocosmetic products based on natural ingredients and encouraging the regeneration of healthy skin cells. The special scientific line of high-quality premium cosmetic products for skin care that will be presented by Apothecary LAB is designed and created by pharmacists and represents a unique private recipe of products containing natural ingredients, the premiere of which is scheduled for this year.

The construction of Apothecary LAB products commenced in 2020. Over the course of five years, extensive research and development were undertaken to establish the brand, develop its name, and create its line of skincare products. Foster + Svensson marketing agency played a pivotal role in crafting a creative solution for this endeavor. Notably, Apothecary LAB was launched simultaneously with the establishment of Apothecary luxury drugstore. After the Institute for Intellectual Property conducted an Examination and requested the Apothecary to provide a Statement regarding the Examination, the Apothecary luxury drugstore submitted an expert Statement report in July 2025. This expert Statement report justified the use of the name “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful.” Foster + Svensson is proud to have contributed its professional expertise to the acceptance of the trademark registration application, which was publicly published in the “Intellectual Property Gazette” at the end of August 2025. The expert explanation provided in the Statement report helped the Institute for Intellectual Property of the Republic of Serbia accept the “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful” trademark and publish it in the official Gazette.

Apothecary holds the right of ownership over the trademark “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful,” registered under number “Ž 2025/0516.” The trademark is classified in the Vienna classification “27.5.1; 27.5.10; 27.5.17; 29.1.6” and falls under Nice classes 3 and 5. The trademark’s color is gray, with RGB values of 153, 153, and 153. The application was submitted to the Institute for the Protection of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Serbia on March 26, 2025, and was published in the “Intellectual Property Gazette of the Republic of Serbia” on August 29, 2025, under number 8/2025 (ISSN 2217 – 9143).

Apothecary drugstore submitted the application for trademark protection based on the Law on Trademarks of the Republic of Serbia and the Decree on the contents of the register of applications and the register of trademarks, the content of requests and proposals submitted in the procedure for recognition and protection of the trademark, and data published in the official gazette of the competent body. The registered trademark, colour, and brand name “Apothecary LAB” are indicated by the Vienna classification (27.5.1; 27.5.10; 27.5.17; 29.1.6) and the Nice class (3; 5), while the goods and services class trademark is defined within cosmetics and dietary supplements.
