Over the course of six years, extensive research and development were undertaken to establish the brand, develop its name, and create its line of skincare products. Foster + Svensson marketing agency played a pivotal role in crafting a creative solution for this endeavor. Notably, Apothecary LAB was launched simultaneously with the establishment of Apothecary luxury drugstore. However, product and brand development were executed concurrently and over an extended period, reflecting Apothecary’s commitment to maintaining exceptionally high standards in its work. The construction of Apothecary LAB products has been underway since 2020, where over 6 years were spent researching and building the brand itself, the name and the line of skincare products, with the support of the Foster + Svensson marketing agency, and its specialized healthcare unit Foster + Svensson MED<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/2122.png" alt="™" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> which worked together on a creative solution. 									<p>In March 2025, Apothecary submitted an application to the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia to protect its trademark. The application sought legal protection for its name, graphic sign (logo), and the name “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful.” This protection ensures that only products marked with the trademark and name “Apothecary LAB” are legally available on the market. Apothecary’s application was based on the Law on Trademarks of the Republic of Serbia (“Official Gazette of the RS”, no. 104/2009 and 10/2013) and the Decree on the contents of the register of applications and the register of trademarks, as well as data published in the official gazette of the competent body (“Official Gazette of the RS”, no. 43/2010 of 25 June 2010). </p>								</div>

									<p>After the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia conducted an Examination and requested the Apothecary to provide a Statement regarding the Examination, the Apothecary luxury drugstore submitted an expert Statement report in July 2025. This expert Statement report justified the use of the name “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful.” Foster + Svensson and Foster + Svensson MED<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/2122.png" alt="™" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> are proud to have contributed its professional expertise to the acceptance of the trademark registration application, which was publicly published in the “<a href="https://www.zis.gov.rs/wp-content/uploads/glasnik-08-2025.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Intellectual Property Gazette</a>” at the end of August 2025. The expert explanation provided in the Statement report helped the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia accept the “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful” trademark and publish it in the official Gazette. </p>								</div>

									<p>In March 2025, Apothecary submitted an application to the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia to protect its trademark. The application sought legal protection for its name, graphic sign (logo), and the name “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful.” This protection ensures that only products marked with the trademark and name “Apothecary LAB” are legally available on the market. Apothecary’s application was based on the Law on Trademarks of the Republic of Serbia (“Official Gazette of the RS”, no. 104/2009 and 10/2013) and the Decree on the contents of the register of applications and the register of trademarks, as well as data published in the official gazette of the competent body (“Official Gazette of the RS”, no. 43/2010 of 25 June 2010). </p>								</div>

This expert Statement report justified the use of the name “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful.” Foster + Svensson is proud to have contributed its professional expertise to the acceptance of the trademark registration application, which was publicly published in the “<a href="https://www.zis.gov.rs/wp-content/uploads/glasnik-08-2025.pdf" target="_blank">Intellectual Property Gazette</a>” at the end of August 2025. The expert explanation provided in the Statement report helped the Institute for Intellectual Property of the Republic of Serbia accept the “Apothecary LAB life more beautiful” trademark and publish it in the official Gazette.&nbsp;</p>								</div>

									<p>We designed a new logo, a new identity for ourselves. Shape-shifting 3D logo. Our primary logo is a combination of two elements. Brand device and our Wordmark. A colored motion and 3D animated abstract bubble is symbolizing ideas, conversation, processes, thinking and creativity which wants to be unleashed from the bubble itself, representing no strains. This bubble is also our new brand device which symbolizes variety of our services. Gradient colors of bubble are displaying diversity of clients and their respective brands. Colors spans from pink to red and orange, with highlights in magenta, creating beautiful gradient. Our work is coming out of this bubble, a place where brands, identities, products, services, marketing, design and campaigns are born. Our color palette evolved from a monotonous grey to a diversified range of orange, pink and reds that encompass the logo tones. These colors are very carefully selected to accent infusing digital environment in communication of 21st century, to demonstrate versatility and vitality, yet to play visually with human eye. All these elements are formed as a lock-up logo.</p>								</div>

									<p>Besides having animated gradient shape-shifting logo, we also designed outline version as our secondary logo, where we used thin, fine lines to display bubble and its motion in a static way, by having several interlaced bubble lines. These fine lines are also used as brand device, where they are oversized and intentionally cropped. Right next to Brand device, we placed our Wordmark, all written with uppercase grey letters, as a complete overhaul offering creative liberty within the design system. Transformation of new Foster + Svensson logo and identity lies on our cornerstone, which enabled us greater responsiveness to the brand&#8217;s evolving needs.</p>								</div>

									<p>We, Foster + Svensson are an award-winning European branding agency, who put forward well-considered contemporary design, digital and innovation. Our origins in architecture, design, sculpturing, and music are back in 1860 where our descendants brought rich history in visual and musical arts. Dragiša Suvodolac, a Royal Court artist, worked with sculptor Ivan Meštrović on creating “The Victor“ monument in Belgrade (1928) and Memorial monument to the Unknown Hero atop Mount Avala in Belgrade (1938) to name a few. The family of Suvodolac was awarded in 1938 by King Peter II Karađorđević of Yugoslavia with Royal Household Silver Medal with Crown Rare for visual art services including painting, sculpture, and architecture. Suvodolac are one of the oldest and rarest families in Serbia, dated back in 11th century between 1004-1008 during Byzantine Empire, when Suvodol monastery was built and later rebuilt by Prince Lazar of Serbia as Nemanjić dynasty foundation in 14th century. Complete reconstruction was done during 1866 by Mihailo Obrenović, Prince of Serbia. Suvodol monastery is marked as a cultural monument of great importance under Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Serbia.</p>								</div>

									<p>&#8220;<em>There is no room for compromise anymore, as customers seek for unique and sleek nice looking, functional and useful e-commerce websites, able to display and sell products in a click or two. As customers are paying for the products, they expect from drugstores and product manufactures to respect them and pay attention to details, information, design and how products are displayed, how products are presented to them</em>”, says Vladimir Suvodolac, Managing Director of Foster + Svensson which created and designed Apothecary brand with his team.</p><p>During insights it was found that one of the main issues within drugstores is communication towards customers. Being noisy, untidy and incomplete for online product presentation. On a level where still relying on old-school print presentation and converting same content on digital, without proper use of assets, having poor content, not using digital features, brand guidelines or graphical standards at all. There is no consistency between different products and such, they are not offered well to the customers.</p><p>– <em>We have to understand that internal or raw data cannot be used in external communication, specially towards customers. Simply, they will not understand it, and therefore we should avoid using irrelevant or confusing content for customers such as product internal codes, product short names, another set of product codes or not having product description. All that we avoided with Apothecary case and managed to have multibrand online store where all products co-exist in their own branding, while not overtaking Apothecary brand and purity</em>, says Vladimir.</p><p> </p>								</div>
