Foster + Svensson ads Milan Konjović artworks to its private collection

Belgrade – Foster + Svensson an award-winning European communications and advertising agency, continues to support Serbian contemporary artists, by adding new work to its private art collection. Since founding of the agency, it was related to art and design, not just by working in creative industry and having creatives as foundation of our agency but being able to recognize art as an important component of our culture, behavior and corporate life.

When we started operating it was agreed that art and design will be the core of Foster + Svensson. Instantly we spotlighted and supported some major art activities, like founding MAI Marina Abramović Institute, supporting exhibitions and buying art, such as original artwork from Nadežda Petrović, artworks from students of Faculty of Applied Arts. This very art we buy (sculptures, paintings, prints, drawings) is done from part of profit we make, and where we invest in future history by buying artworks and displaying at Foster + Svensson as our legacy and investment in Serbian contemporary art. It is also a way how we express our support and recognition to the artists, says Vladimir Suvodolac, Managing Director of Foster + Svensson.

At Foster + Svensson, people are focused on increase of global philanthropy awareness and change of people culture towards better societies. Art preservation represent one of three pillars within Foster + Svensson foundation, where we identify, promote, buy and collect arts, that will become legacy for generations to come.

To our contemporary art collection, we added two new artworks, both made in 1954 by Academician Milan Konjović (1898-1993) called “Cow study 1” and “Cow study 2”. The year 1953 is considered to be the turning point in Konjović’s painting style. His works began to be defined by more pure intensive colors and glow, leading to the period dubbed the “coloristic phase.” New artistic orientation culminated and was to characterize the works of the “associative phase”.

Milan Konjović was a prominent Serbian painter whose works can be divided into six periods of artistic style. His long life’s work earned him many recognitions as well as a place in the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU). Konjović is considered to be one of the most significant exponents of Expressionism of color in Serbian art.

We are very proud for recent acquisition of two original artworks made by Academician Milan Konjović as a new addon to our contemporary private art collection, which include work from Nadežda Petrović as well.
